Choosing a path.

I know where I am going! I know how I am getting there! And I know when I will arrive! But is that where I want to be?

As we head down a path, no matter if we have stumbled upon it or carefully chosen it among other option, we have a trejectory, a direction and focus. As we go down this path we will see other paths, some going in different directions, some parallel, some less traveled and some paved and smooth. For some it is hard to look at these paths, focus on their path is specific and strong, for others it is impossible to not look at these other paths, they are tempting, intriguing!

No matter if we are distracted by the other paths or focused on our existing path, we need to take time to reflect, make sure we are headed to the destination we want. Sometimes we get so focused on the journey, on a path we chose years ago that we forget where we are going, we don't check our supplies and we just keep pushing forward for the sake of pushing forward. No matter how tough or easy the path we continue to walk, run or crawl.

So take a moment and check you destination, make sure you still want what you were headed for, and have what you need to get there. If you do push more, work even harder and drive forward? If not what do you want, how do you get there and what do you need on the path you choose? We all have the power to choose our path, no matter how far we are on our current path we can choose the path that will give us what we need!

Go forward, choose your path and be happy with the fact that you have made that choice!

Slow Starts!

Everyday we each have a moment where we feel ourselves starting to slip, starting to get upset, starting to get grouchy! Sometimes we feel it too late and realize we are being a jerk, out just generally grouchy. Sometimes we feel it coming but can't reset out direction. Other days it's just a slow start, a moment we get to make a decision on who we will be today!

How do we make it a slow start? How do we reset before we pass a bad mood on to someone else? I wish I knew!

What I do know is we need to find the energy to fight on, we need to make sure we pass on more positive than negative, we need to do damage control! Some days are one step at a time, many deep breaths, many refocused thoughts. Find a spot in time or a smiling face to focus on and don't let it go. We all have that something that makes us smile, we need to keep that thought in our back pocket, and we need to take a moment now and again to go to that thought! On a world full of noise and full of critisizm it is our role to be the beacon light, and to be the beacon light we need a source for our energy.

So if you are feeling that mood sinking in, feeling that frustration building, go find your focus point. Look around and find that smile! Let someone else's beacon light energize you and lift you up. The let yourself spread that same energy. For the extraverts in the world remember you charge your battery by charging others!

Motivate, inspire and find your focus!

Who is the Judge?

"Anything you say can and will be held against you."

"You will be judged by a Jury of your peers!"

"You are innocent until proven guilty!"

Little phrases in life often drift by us, or we feel they must be for someone else. We assume it isn't us, it can't be me or it must be one of "those" people. We judge everyone and have gotten to the point many people constantly feel judged. We don't take the time "to walk a mile in their shoes!" We are so worried what other people think of us that we automatically deflect our feelings of guilt, inadequacy, misunderstanding and shame onto others. We don't look inward to see why we feel that way and we rarely try to understand someone else's situation. For that matter we rarely stand face to face with someone that we are judging. We all want to be the Judge and Jury, but never the executioner.

How have we come to this place? How do we change? How do we better ourselves and those around us?

The funny thing is not much has changed, society has always had these problems! Unfortunately what use to be chatter around a coffee table or  water cooler is now posted everywhere! People don't have to wonder what people are thinking, people post it in one way or another, sometimes it's direct, sometimes it is a back handed complement, sometimes it's an attempt to boost one's own ego that shatters another's.

So let's all slow down, and remember to lend a hand, lend an ear. Take the time to understand someone, to feel for them and be there for them! The best way to boost your ego is to help someone else, to know that you have been a step up instead of a strike against. Understand what your words mean, remember there are people out there, people that feel, that love and that hurt. Take the time to give someone a hug, take a friend for coffee and listen to what they have to say. Pick the phone up and call someone who may need you or miss you. Remember to love and be loved!
